Manchester's Dual Code Rugby Club

Wheelchair RL set for April “Try it” Day

As part of Mancunians “Try it” day, visitors are being encouraged to try Wheelchair Rugby League. This version of the fast paced sport was created in France and is growing in the UK with Manchester having it’s very own team this year.
After playing their first league fixture last week, the team is expanding and all newcomers are welcome.
Head coach Dave Abel was happy with the first game. “Although we lost 30-8 it was a good display. Now we are looking to increase our numbers as part of the club’s “Try it” events.” he said. “Wheelchair rugby league is an enjoyable, fun and social sport.”
The first “Try it” day is being held this Sunday, 22nd April at Mancunians home with the free wheelchair taster session taking place at 1.30pm. Earlier in the day people will have the chance to try their hand at a number of other sports.
There is a free car park and refreshments will be available on the day from the on-site coffee shop.
The club can be found at Mauldeth Rd W, Manchester M21 7SX.
There is something for everyone, so come along and “Try it” with Mancunians.unnamed (2)
